Finding Out You’re Pregnant
As soon as you know or suspect you are pregnant, you can refer yourself to maternity services by completing a simple online form on NHS.uk. It’s recommended that you do this as early as possible after finding out. Follow the link below to start your referral:
Refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care – NHS
You don’t need to see a GP before seeing a midwife unless you have a long-term health condition or are taking medication. In that case, you can still refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care, but you should also see your GP or specialist to discuss any necessary changes to your care or medicines.
Midwives can inform your GP of your pregnancy and update them on your care and progress.
